Love in an Envelope from

My name is Dakar and I have a four year old daughter.  She use to be cute and lovable until she discovered the
rest of the world and decided to try it out.  Oh well, guess it had to happen.
I recently had a rite of passage for my daughter for she turned four and started preschool ( her idea ) within a few
weeks of each other.  In my family we give jewelry at special occasions ( a bracelet at birth, birthstone ring for 16th
birthday, diamond earrings for 21st birthday) and my daughter had been stealing my goddess statue from my alter for
her room, so I decided to get her a statue ( which she picked out ) and a plain gold ring.  I presented it to her during
a circle ( I made her wait in another room while I prepared so the change was more dramatic. ) and she loved it.  I told
her how grown up she was and how proud I was of the person she had become and that the ring was a token of my
faith in her.  She calls it her "growning up ring".
Just thought I'd share.

1/20/99 ~ Moon's Wing (and Dakar),  Thank you so much for sharing this bit of your life with me.  To honor your family traditions, I have created a ring for you ~ I hope you like it.  Walk in the light.  ~Lizzy Crowe
